Fagor alarm 2017: CNC RAM memory error

What it means
The 8055 memory self-test run at power-up or in diagnostics mode has found a defect in the CNC's RAM. Fagor's documented remedy is replacement of the CPU board by qualified service, since program and table integrity can no longer be guaranteed.
Likely causes
- failed RAM devices on the CPU board
- board damage from a past +5 V excursion or shorted feedback supply
- poor edge contact/connector seating giving intermittent reads
Triage note: If it appeared after handling the unit, reseat the CPU board and check the internal +5 V before ordering a board.
