Fagor alarm 2018: CNC EPROM memory error

What it means
Checksum verification of the CNC's EPROM (the resident executive/software) fails at startup or in diagnostics. Fagor documents replacing the EPROM with a correctly programmed device; the CNC will not run reliably with corrupt executive code.
Likely causes
- EPROM bit rot / damaged window or die after years of UV and heat exposure
- poorly seated EPROM in its socket
- wrong EPROM fitted during a previous repair
