What it means
The startup test detected a checksum failure in battery-backed NVRAM, meaning the battery-backed memory area failed its integrity test. Data such as coordinates, zero offsets, parts counter and kinematics may not be valid. After replacing the battery the affected data must be re-entered and the machine re-homed.

- exhausted lithium backup battery
- battery holder/contact corrosion
- NVRAM failure after prolonged operation with dead battery
Triage note: Replace the battery with the CNC powered ON if the manual for your hardware revision allows it, so retained data is not lost during exchange.
