Fagor alarm 061: Battery error

What it means
The classic 8025/8030-generation backup-battery alarm: the CNC announces the battery can no longer be trusted and, per the manual, memory contents survive only about ten more days with the control off. The entire battery module mounted on the back of the unit must be replaced.
Likely causes
- exhausted lithium battery pack (multi-year service life elapsed)
- corroded or loose contacts in the battery holder/plug
- pack damaged by heat
Triage note: Manual warning: never recharge the cell, keep it under 100 C and do not short the leads. Replace BEFORE powering the control down and re-enter parameters from your hard copy/backup afterwards.
