What it means
High-level-language subroutine nesting went deeper than the 15 levels allowed via CALL, PCALL or MCALL. Each call pushes a nesting level; exceeding the stack aborts execution.
Likely causes
- recursive subroutine calls without a termination condition
- deeply nested macro libraries stacked beyond 15 levels
- call loop whose exit condition never triggers due to bad parameter math
Triage note: Local-parameter nesting via PCALL additionally caps at 6 levels (error 1054).
