What it means
Two electronically coupled axes (or a gantry pair) drifted apart: the difference between their following errors exceeded the MAXCOUPE (P45) tolerance of the slave axis. This protects gantry geometry - both sides must track within tolerance or the CNC trips with the full emergency reaction including the external relay.
Likely causes
- one side of the gantry mechanically bound or poorly lubricated
- one drive/feedback of the pair degraded, tracking worse than its twin
- MAXCOUPE(P45) set tighter than achievable by the mechanics
- lost motion (backlash, loose coupling) on one side only
