What it means
The CNC has received an external emergency request: PLC input I1 dropped to "0" (typically an E-stop button pressed or a limit/door switch opening the safety chain) or the PLC mark /EMERGEN was cleared by ladder logic. All axis and spindle enables and analog velocity outputs are cancelled immediately and the position loop is opened (LOPEN mark set). This is the master motion-stop alarm on analog-axis 8055 installations, so every other enable-related symptom usually starts here.
Likely causes
- E-stop button pressed or faulty, breaking the safety chain
- 24 V supply for the emergency chain missing or weak
- limit switch, door interlock or relay in the chain open
- PLC program deactivating mark M5000 (/EMERGEN)
- broken wire between safety chain and PLC input I1
Triage note: Diagnose why input I1 or /EMERGEN went low before replacing anything; a sagging 24 V supply mimics a stuck E-stop.
