What it means
The startup check detected corrupted or unreadable firmware EPROM on the CNC. The executive software cannot be trusted, so the CNC inhibits motion and raises the external emergency. Typically seen on aging units whose EPROMs suffer bit rot or poor socket contact.
Likely causes
- EPROM degraded with age (bit rot)
- poor EPROM socket contact or corrosion
- wrong/mismatched firmware set installed
Triage note: Re-seat the EPROM set first; if the error persists order replacement EPROMs (correct software version) through Fagor service.
