What it means
The power-up test flags a defect in the user RAM area that holds part programs, tables and user data on the 8055. The 'Press any key' variant lets the operator acknowledge and continue, but stored user data must be considered suspect until validated.

- depleted lithium battery letting RAM contents decay while powered off
- failing user-RAM devices
- data corruption after a crash during a memory write
Triage note: Check battery age first: RAM errors shortly after a long power-off period usually trace to the cell, not the board.
