Frames arrived on the EtherCAT bus with corrupted checksums, so they are discarded and the working counter degrades. The manual ties this to disconnection events or electromagnetic interference riding on the bus wiring.

- bus cables routed next to power/brake chopper lines without shielding discipline
- poor shield termination or missing ground bond at cabinet entry
- intermittent connector contact raising bit errors
