What it means

The absolute coordinate delivered by the feedback device differs from the coordinate saved in the previous CNC session by more than MAXDIFREF. The screen offers Current vs Expected Coordinate so the operator can accept the position or restore the expected one via G174 after confirming.

Likely causes

• genuine axis movement while the CNC was off
• linear scale or absolute encoder replaced/repaired without updating reference data
• feedback device failing intermittently and losing absolute information
