What it means
The position loop measured an over-current condition on the local feedback input of the CNC, which almost always means the feedback lines are shorted. The input protects itself and reports the alarm until the short is removed.
Likely causes
- short circuit in the scale/encoder cable (A/B or inverted pairs crushed)
- damaged connector bridging signal pins
- +5 V sensor feed shorted to shield/ground
