What it means
Generic broken-wire detection on the local feedback input: at least one of the differential signals (A, B, or their inverted partners) no longer toggles. Counting continues unreliable until the conductor is restored.

- connector pin backed out or corroded
- scale head cable flexure failure near the reading head
