Fagor alarm 6048: External feedback alarm

What it means

The feedback device connected to the local feedback input asserts its own alarm output. The encoder or scale is telling the CNC it is unhealthy internally - the CNC simply forwards the device-level alarm.

Likely causes

• internal LED/lamp degradation in the scale reading head
• contamination (coolant film, chips) on glass scale or disk
• encoder electronics failure flagged by self-test
