Fagor alarm E212: Overcurrent

What it means
Excess current through the drive module detected instantaneously; PWM interrupted (category 0 stop). Displayed locally and mirrored to the CNC as error 212 (8055 alarm 4009/4069).
Likely causes
- phase-phase or phase-ground short in motor cable (coolant at connector typical)
- motor winding breakdown
- failed IGBT/driver in the module
- wrong current-loop parameters causing overshoot trips
Triage note: Reset once. Repeat trip with motor cable removed = replace drive. Trip only under load = megger the motor and cable separately before buying anything.
