Fagor alarm E816: Unstable C and D signals of the motor feedback
DDS drive display code (AXD/SPD/ACD/SCD seven-segment) · Fagor DDS drives
What it means
At drive start-up the CAPMOTOR-X feedback board sees jittering C/D signals - often simply because the spindle was still turning when power was applied. If the machine is guaranteed stationary, the signal chain (encoder, cable, board) is suspect. Not resettable; power-cycle after correcting the cause.
Likely causes
- spindle coasting/free-spinning during drive initialization
- failing encoder C/D output stages
- CAPMOTOR-X feedback board defect
- broken strands in encoder cable intermittently grounding signals
Triage note: Board-vs-encoder isolation: swap the feedback cable first, then the CAPMOTOR-X board, keeping the encoder last.
