Fanuc alarm 36: Error counter overflow

What it means

The position error counter overflowed in the αi SPM during position-control operations such as rigid tapping, Cs contour control or spindle synchronization. Usually parameter-related: gear ratio or position gain settings.

Likely causes

• Gear ratio parameters excessively large (No. 4056–4059)
• Position gain too low for orientation/sync modes
• Motor deactivated while still in a position-control mode (sequence)
