Fanuc alarm 54: Motor current overload (long-duration)

What it means
The αi SPM detected a large current flowing in the spindle motor for an extended period. Troubleshoot exactly like alarm 29 (short-period overload): mechanical load, tooling and duty cycle are prime suspects.
Likely causes
- Sustained load above continuous rating
- Dull tooling or workpiece clamping issues
- Insufficient motor/spindle cooling
