Fanuc alarm 945: SERIAL SPINDLE CONFIGURATION ERROR

What it means
Raised at power-up when the installed hardware does not match what serial spindle operation requires, or when the initial communication handshake with the first serial spindle amplifier fails. The CNC cannot bring the spindle link up, so the boot sequence aborts into this alarm.
Likely causes
- Serial spindle amplifier not powered or not ready at CNC boot
- Broken or incorrectly connected spindle serial link cable
- Wrong hardware/option configuration for serial spindle use
- Faulty spindle amplifier control board
