What it means
The TV (vertical parity) check found that a block read from the input device contained an odd number of characters. TV checking can be suppressed by setting parameter TVC (No. 0000#0) to 0, which is common when punching older programs with blank lines.
Likely causes
- Odd character count in a block of the incoming program
- Corrupted data from the serial transfer
- Blank lines in EIA-coded tape data
