Fanuc alarm SP9024: SERIAL TRANSFER DATA ERROR

What it means
Data transferred serially between the CNC and the spindle amplifier contained errors. Note that this state also appears whenever CNC power is removed while the amplifier stays powered, which is normal and not a fault; during operation, however, it means frames are being corrupted in transit.
Likely causes
- Electrical noise coupling into the serial spindle cable, especially when run alongside motor power leads
- Damaged, too-long or poorly shielded interface/optical fiber cable
- Failing serial interface hardware on the SPM or the CNC-side board
Triage note: Separate signal cables from power cables and verify maximum allowed link length first.
