Fanuc alarm SV0410: EXCESS ERROR (STOP)

What it means

While the axis was stopped, the amount of positional deviation exceeded the limit in parameter No. 1829, producing an instantaneous stop equivalent to emergency stop. A stationary axis holding large deviation means the servo is fighting something — either it cannot reach the commanded position or the loop is unstable. Watch whether the deviation builds gradually (drift/load) or jumps instantly (feedback loss).

Likely causes

• Clamped axis commanded to move, or brake applied while servo active
• Excessive friction or mechanical jam
• Torque insufficient due to amplifier/motor fault
• Incorrect parameter No. 1829 value for the application
