Likely causes
- genuine overload/bind (ballscrew, way lube, brake stuck on)
- motor cooling fan stopped (fan-cooled models)
- thermostat/sensor or its feedback wiring faulty
- amplifier misreading sensor
Triage note: Let cool and retry: immediate retrip with cold motor = thermostat circuit (sensor/cable/amp), not true overheating; release brake check first on vertical axes
