Siemens alarm 1: Battery: Data loss at power off!

What it means

The NCK/PLC backup battery is empty, so buffered data is no longer battery-backed. During operation production may continue, but switching off means total data loss and obligatory re-installation of the whole NCK/PLC unit. The battery must be replaced while the control is switched on.

Likely causes

• Backup battery fully discharged
• Battery replaced with control switched off
• Corroded battery holder contacts
