What it means
The compensation plane selection (G17/G18/G19) may not change while radius compensation is active. The offset vector is referenced to the current plane, and switching planes mid-compensation corrupts the geometry calculation. Cancel with G40, switch plane, then re-enable compensation.
Likely causes
- Plane-change block inserted between G41 and G40
- Cycle switching planes internally while main-program CRC is still modal
- Copy-pasted program sections leaving CRC modal across plane changes
