Siemens alarm 10900: Channel %1 block %2 no S value programmed for constant cutting speed
SINUMERIK channel alarm · Siemens 840D/810D powerline
What it means
Constant cutting speed mode (G96) is active but no S value interpreted as cutting speed is effective. Under G96 the S address means surface speed, and without it the spindle speed cannot be computed. Program a valid S value with or before G96 operation.
Likely causes
- G96 activated without a preceding S word
- S set to zero or overwritten with an invalid value
- Spindle changeover losing the modal constant-cutting-speed value
