Siemens alarm 14012: Channel %1 block %2 maximum subroutine level exceeded

What it means
The permitted nesting depth of subroutine calls has been exceeded: programs may be nested eight levels deep from the main program (seven subordinate levels), and only four levels inside interrupt routines. The interpreter stops at the offending block because the call stack limit protects NCK resources.
Likely causes
- Part program calls subroutines nested deeper than allowed
- Recursive (self-calling) subroutine without termination condition
- Interrupt routine chain calling more than four levels
- Missing M17/M02 returns leaving calls stacked
