Siemens alarm 156*: Set speed too high

What it means
The NCK output a speed setpoint higher than the value permitted in machine data 264*, so the motor cannot follow the command. Usually a commissioning inconsistency between rapid traverse data, gear stages and the axis speed-limit machine data.
Likely causes
- Rapid/feed machine data exceed MD264* limit
- Gear-stage change leaves setpoint above allowed range
- Incorrect MD264* entry after drive replacement
