Siemens alarm 184*: Stop behind ref. point

What it means

During reference-point approach the axis was stopped between the reference cam and the zero mark of the measuring system - for instance by feed hold, e-stop or power loss. The NCK forbids resuming there; back out of the zone and repeat the complete referencing sequence.

Likely causes

• Feed hold or E-stop pressed during homing
• Power interruption mid-referencing
• Approach parameters leaving the axis parked inside the critical zone
