What it means

The running reference point approach was aborted before completion, for example by operator action, withdrawal of a VDI/interface enable or a superimposed alarm. No fault of encoder or drive is implied; the axis simply did not finish the cycle.

Likely causes

• JOG key released or NC stop pressed during the approach
• PLC withdrew the referencing start/enable signal
• another axis or channel alarm stopped the motion
• end-of-travel protection intervened during the search run
