Siemens alarm 2130: 5V/24V encoder or 15V D/A converter undervoltage

What it means
The NCK detected a supply failure on the encoder voltage rails (5 V/24 V) or on the +/-15 V D/A-converter supply. Because a shorted encoder cable can drag these rails down, the reaction includes follow-up mode and all axes of the channel must be re-referenced afterwards.
Likely causes
- Short circuit in encoder signal/supply cable
- Defective encoder drawing excess current
- Failure of the internal supply feeding encoders/D/A converter
