Siemens alarm 22010: [Channel %1: ] Block %3 spindle %2 actual gear stage differs from requested gear stage

What it means
After a gear change command, the feedback about the engaged gear does not match the requested stage. The control compares the commanded stage with the stage reported back through the PLC interface and aborts further spindle commands on mismatch.
Likely causes
- gearbox did not complete the shift (mechanical fault, worn shift fork/clutch)
- gear position sensor or its wiring faulty, giving wrong feedback
- mapping of gear feedback bits in the PLC incorrect
- shift time monitoring expired because the drive could not reach change speed
