Siemens alarm 22040: [Channel %1: ] Block %3 spindle %2 is not referenced with zero marker
SINUMERIK axis/spindle alarm · Siemens 840D/810D powerline
What it means
Position-controlled spindle functions such as rigid tapping or thread cutting require the spindle measuring system to be referenced to a zero mark. The command was refused because the spindle encoder reference is missing.
Likely causes
- spindle encoder provides no zero mark (contamination, defect)
- spindle referencing never performed since power-on
- reference mode/machine data for the spindle encoder inconsistent (MD 30240/34200)
- zero mark lost after encoder or cable work without re-referencing
