Siemens alarm 22052: [Channel %1: ] Block %3 spindle %2 no standstill on block change

SINUMERIK axis/spindle alarm · Siemens 840D/810D powerline

What it means

At the end of a block the spindle was expected to be at standstill but was still turning (or creeping) beyond the tolerated window. The channel stops because the next block presumes a stationary spindle.

Likely causes

  • spindle brake defective or not commanded
  • deceleration ramp too soft for the driven mass
  • gravity/oil-motor effect turning an unheld vertical spindle
  • standstill window/monitoring time parameterized too tightly
