Siemens alarm 25202: Axis %1 waiting for drive

What it means
The NCK holds the axis because its drive object is not reporting ready - it is missing, still booting, disabled or faulty. The alarm is often a consequence alarm accompanying drive-side faults and disappears when the drive becomes operational again.
Likely causes
- drive power module failed or DC link not charged
- enable chain (48/63/663, safety) not closed, drive stays blocked
- drive bus / DriveCliQ communication interrupted
- drive firmware booting after update or repeatedly resetting
- topology changed without re-commissioning
Triage note: Check drive diagnostics first; this NCK alarm rarely points at the NCK itself.
