What it means
The number of encoder lines/increments stored for this encoder is invalid or incompatible with the motor/drive identification. Correct conversion between motor revolutions and axis motion is impossible with wrong mark counts, so commissioning blocks the axis.
Likely causes
- encoder line count typed wrongly after encoder exchange
- motor/encoder order data (MLFB) not matching loaded drive dataset
- value zero or negative entered
- third-party encoder integrated without adapting the resolution data
