What it means

The connected encoder type requires functions (e.g. certain absolute interfaces or high signal frequencies) that the installed drive measurement electronics do not support. Hardware generation and encoder type must be matched.

Likely causes

• older control/measurement board revision combined with newer encoder interface
• encoder interface (TTL/1Vpp/EnDat variants) not supported by the mounted module
• module DIP/parameter setting conflicting with encoder signal type
• mixed hardware generations after partial drive upgrades
