Siemens alarm 26106: Encoder %2 of axis %1 not found

What it means

The encoder configured for this axis did not answer during initialization - the drive object behind the encoder address is missing on the bus or was configured inconsistently. Measurement for the axis is impossible in this state.

Likely causes

• $MA_ENC_TYPE non-zero although the encoder should be simulated
• logical drive/module number for the encoder (MD 30110/30230 area) wrong or swapped
• bus addresses not contained in the bus configuration (SDB1000/topology)
• encoder module absent, unpowered or its connecting cable broken
