Siemens alarm 300604: Axis %1 drive %2 motor encoder is not adjusted

What it means
For linear-motor encoders with EnDat interface (e.g. 1FN3), the stored commissioning serial number does not match the connected encoder, so the drive assumes the pair was never commissioned together. The commutation offset must be re-determined and the new encoder's serial number stored.
Likely causes
- linear encoder exchanged without storing its serial number (MD 1017 startup assistance)
- commutation angle offset MD 1016 never adapted to this encoder/motor pair
- boot files saved before completing identification
Triage note: Procedure: measure/set MD 1016 via rotor position identification (MD 1017 = 1), then MD 1017 = -1 to store serial number, save boot files, NCK reset.
