Siemens alarm 61102: No spindle direction programmed

What it means
A tapping cycle was started without a spindle rotation direction. The SDIR parameter (or SDR in CYCLE840) defines whether the spindle turns CW or CCW for the cutting motion, and the cycle refuses to run without it. Enter the direction in the cycle parameter form.
Likely causes
- SDIR/SDR parameter left empty in the tapping cycle call
- Parameter form filled from a template that omits the direction field
- Spindle direction reset after program edit
