Siemens alarm 61107: First drilling depth incorrectly defined

What it means

In the deep-hole drilling cycle with pecking (CYCLE83) the first drilling depth points in the opposite direction to the total drilling depth, so the first peck would move away from the material. The cycle checks this consistency before starting. Both depths must share the same sign convention.

Likely causes

• First depth entered positive while total depth is negative (or vice versa)
• Copy/paste of parameters between absolute/incremental variants
• Misunderstanding of the depth sign for retract-side programming
