Siemens alarm 611U-F512: Measuring circuit error, direct measuring system

What it means

The 1Vpp signals of the direct (linear scale) measuring system are below level, noisy, or the cable-break monitor tripped. Same electrical philosophy as the motor-encoder fault, but applied to the second encoder input used for direct position sensing.

Likely causes

• contaminated or damaged scale/tape section
• scale interconnection cable not original preassembled Siemens type
• intermittent contacts in drag-chain sections
• shield clamp at control module faceplate loose
• defective scale or control module
