Siemens alarm 61357: Not enough NC memory or too many files, directories in the NC

What it means

The NC file system has insufficient free memory or holds too many files/directories for the cycle to write its data. The Diagnostics Guide recommends deleting numeric-named temporary files (for example automatic backups in /_N_WKS_DIR/_N_TEMP_WPD) and checking MD18320 $MN_MM_NUM_FILES_IN_FILESYSTEM. Housekeeping of the part-program storage usually clears it.

Likely causes

• Accumulated automatic backup files in the temporary workpiece directory
• File count above the MD18320 limit even though space remains
• Oversized logging/test files left on the NCK
