Siemens alarm 61602: Tool width incorrectly defined

What it means

In the grooving cycle CYCLE93 the cutting width of the plunging tool is larger than the programmed groove width, so the groove could never be produced cleanly. The comparison fails before machining starts. Select a narrower grooving insert or widen the groove in the program.

Likely causes

• Groove width (WID) smaller than insert cutting width
• Tool-width entry in tool list wrong for the fitted insert
• Wrong pocket/undercut dimension carried over from drawing
